The Life Aquatic

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou is the new movie that I desperately want to see. It is released December 25, 2004 and is staring Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Angelica Huston, CAT blanched, William daffy. The film is directed by woes Anderson and from the previews the film looks absolutely zany! Its a comedy about oceanographer Steve kiss (Murray) who is searching for a mysterious "jaguar shark" that killed his partner in order to kill it for revenge. Accompany him is his crazy crew and possible a young man who is his long lost son. From the previews I can already tell that this movie has a great sense of style and the sound track is going to be awesome. I also have heard a lot of talk about some really amazing animated sequences that take place in the film, some of which you get a glimpse of in the preview. I cant wait!

Airline

As you walk through two sliding doors you feel a whoosh of wind at your back while you pull along two heavy bags behind you. The intercom spats out various languages informing you of updates as you watch business travelers and vacationers alike pass by. The airport in its own way is quite an interesting place. One might avoid the notion that they have to travel or loath the thought of a long flight but once they are in the airport the memorizing surrounding grabs hold of them. Its an interesting place with everything from the hustle and bussle of people running by trying to catch there flight to the group of kids on the floor playing a game with their family. When I think of the airport what comes to mind is the high pitch sound of the jet engines and splash of wind hitting me as I walk through various doors or on the runway to a plane. I also think of the gift shops and biplanes hung from the ceiling with wires accompanied by usually unique and fascinating architecture. Many of my memories are played out from the airport in a show on the A&E channel called Airline. The show has already had its first season so its not exactly hot news but it really captures the essence of what an airport is and does. Passengers waiting in line some are ticked off or in trouble and all the while the crew and workers at the airport are working hard to solve problems, find people, and get them where they are trying to go. Its chaos! Almost no other show makes me laugh like this one and Im looking forward to trying to watch it more often. I have not however seen anyone one collapse and begin screaming "just get me outta here!" like I have seen at the St. Louis airport a few years ago.

Happy Halloween

Chika and I, in the Halloween spirit, did our first pumpkin together. We haven't given it a name yet although we hold a great affection for this little guy. It might be small but we think that it will be able to stand up against any other pumpkin so I don't think that he will encounter any teasing problems. We might adopt some more pumpkins before "trick or treat day" but this week looks pretty busy so we might just stick with our miniature pumpkin for this year.

JOHN KERRY: When the president had an opportunity to capture or kill Osama bin Laden, he took his focus off of them, outsourced the job to Afghan warlords, and Osama bin Laden escaped. Six months after he said Osama bin Laden must be caught dead or alive, this president was asked, 'Where is Osama bin Laden?' He said: 'I don't know. I don't really think about him very much. I'm not that concerned.' We need a president who stays deadly focused on the real war on terror.

PRESIDENT BUSH: Gosh, I don't think I ever said I'm not worried about Osama bin Laden. That's kind of one of those exaggerations.

March 13, 2002

PRESIDENT BUSH: And, again, I don't know where he is. I -- I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him.

March 3, 2002

PRESIDENT BUSH: I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority.

Conservative Dating

"Are you tired of arguing on your dates with liberals?"
"Do you get sick of hearing your boyfriend/girlfriend bash
president Bush?"
Now there is hope!

Its pretty funny that such a "dating service" exists although mostly I am just astonished that Bush supporters still believe that there were WMD in Iraqi before the invasion and that Saddam was Directly related to 9/11. Although there have been several official government reports stating the complete opposite, basically we were all lied too by you know who. Anyways at least they are dating each other now.

Desktop search with Google

Many people use Google to search the internet for just about everything. Well Google has released a desktop search that integrates searching for things on your desktop with its online search engine. You can find specifically files on your computer or when you search the internet it will tell you related files you currently have on your hard drive. It will find your email in Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express; files in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and text; your website history in Internet Explorer; and your instant message chats in AOL Instant Messenger. Pretty much anything. I downloaded the application and it is very fast and sleek. Google is really giving Microsoft a run for it's money, I think that this is the only way I am going to search my computer from now on.

Check out these cool free applications I use from Google:

This is a Demo of the new electronic voting ballot for Florida. We all know how much trouble there was last election over the voting in Florida. However, we are fortunate to have such an unbiased governor to over see this new voting system that will without a doubt solve all of the old problems.

Going Up River

"How do you ask a man to be the last man to die in Vietnam? How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?" -John Kerry

A movie detailing what John Kerry really did in Vietnam is now free available for download. The government was willing to let more Americans die in Vietnam to avoid admitting they had made a mistake. The president didn't want to be "the first president in American History to lose a war." This is the story of the Vietnam Veterans fight to end a pointless and unwinnable war and to bring their brothers home. Don't let false thirty second republican commercials try to tell you what happened during one of the most defining parts of a mans life.

Check Your Facts!

"The President said twice that "75 percent" of al Qaida leaders have been "brought to justice." But as The Associated Press reported Oct. 1, Bush was referring to the deaths or arrests of 75 percent of bin Laden's network at the time of the September 11 attacks -- not those who are running the terrorist organization today. The AP also reported that the CIA said earlier in the year two-thirds of those leaders are gone; at his acceptance speech in September, Bush increased his count to three-fourths based on unreleased intelligence data.

Furthermore, the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies reported May 25 that the occupation of Iraq has helped Al Qaeda recruit more members. The institute quoted "conservative" intelligence estimates as saying that Al Qaeda has 18,000 potential operatives and is present in more than 60 countries."

Well I guess the second presidential debate should be confusing and misleading to many. Both participants made some wrong statements and its sad that nobody really works hard on the news to correct these things. Anyways a great website that has been mentioned in the news and has even been a place where John Kerry has gotten some of his information is factcheck.org or "Factcheck.com" according to our Vice President. It sounds really disturbing that not only is the "War on Terror" not seem to be working so well but in fact it may even be losing the battle. A lot of the terrorists in the Middle East are saying America has declared a war on Islam to increase there recruitment numbers, which isn't too far fetched since the President has said in the past that he will lead America on a "Crusade" against Terror, or something to that effect. Although many of the Al Qaeda leaders have been killed one should understand that those leadership positions are filled when they are emptied. I just hope elections in Iraq go better than did the recently held election in Afghanistan.

Latest AU Phone

Another cool phone from Japan. This is the same type of phone Chika had in Japan, AU, although it was a different model. American cell phones are something for us to be ashamed of. They are large, bulky, and ugly. Even a "cool expensive camera phone" in the states is indeed very poor in comparison. I guarantee you can find a phone on the AU website that will make you say "wow" and be jealous.

Birthday Wishlist

It is going to be fifteen days until my birthday (10/24) and although I wasn't so excited at first chika has told me she already got me something! Now I am very curios about what it is and I cannot wait to find out. Seeing as some people might want to buy me something (hopefully) I will make a little list of some things I might like to have to help them. If you are going to buy me something from my wishlist you may want to tell me so that I don't get duplicates from other people since its hard to return stuff from the internet.
