The Childrens Place
...is where I work! Well it seemed as though perhaps my job searching would end in failure but then I received a call from The Children’s Place. I was surprised to be hired because I had really thought it was the job I was least likely to get. Perhaps I thought they didn’t want a guy working in there store but as it turns out there is another guy working there who was hired recently too. The work isn’t too bad mainly the hard part is having to stand for long periods and perhaps having mishaps on the register. Usually things go pretty smoothly and time goes quickly. The dress code at the store is all black which might seem odd, as it is a children’s clothing store. I don’t however mind much and I think the clothes make the employees stand out and look "spiffy." Some of the funniest question I get is "do you work here?" I guess they don’t see my nametag hanging around my neck. Also when you tell people "all the summer cloths is $3.99 regardless of the price tag," they still like to check with you on many items. Overall though people are usually pretty smart except for the other night when this family took a ton of cloths back into the dressing room and tried them on even though the store was closing in a few minutes. Well after we closed the doors they came out and you wouldn’t believe it but they had many styles of the exact same pants with the exact same size. You would think you would try one size on and the same type of pants would fit but I guess they didn’t see the logic in that. I still have some things to learn like doing returns on the cash register but overall I don’t feel like im lost everyday or anything, which is a good thing as I can only assume. I hope I can work for a while there but im not sure how many hours I can work especially with classes starting again.
