Airline
As you walk through two sliding doors you feel a whoosh of wind at your back while you pull along two heavy bags behind you. The intercom spats out various languages informing you of updates as you watch business travelers and vacationers alike pass by. The airport in its own way is quite an interesting place. One might avoid the notion that they have to travel or loath the thought of a long flight but once they are in the airport the memorizing surrounding grabs hold of them. Its an interesting place with everything from the hustle and bussle of people running by trying to catch there flight to the group of kids on the floor playing a game with their family. When I think of the airport what comes to mind is the high pitch sound of the jet engines and splash of wind hitting me as I walk through various doors or on the runway to a plane. I also think of the gift shops and biplanes hung from the ceiling with wires accompanied by usually unique and fascinating architecture. Many of my memories are played out from the airport in a show on the A&E channel called Airline. The show has already had its first season so its not exactly hot news but it really captures the essence of what an airport is and does. Passengers waiting in line some are ticked off or in trouble and all the while the crew and workers at the airport are working hard to solve problems, find people, and get them where they are trying to go. Its chaos! Almost no other show makes me laugh like this one and Im looking forward to trying to watch it more often. I have not however seen anyone one collapse and begin screaming "just get me outta here!" like I have seen at the St. Louis airport a few years ago.
